Hand Spinning

Recently I have been spinning the fiber from my Pygora goat, Willow. Well actually attempting to spin would be more accurate! I really have no clue what I am doing. I have a fun little drop spindle that I have been using and a book with instructions. So, I spun up quite a bit but somehow it just doesn't seem quite right :) It is very uneven and lumpy. Oh well, I just look at it as practice, someday I will probably be a wonderful expert :) I am planning on making some kind of funny hat or scarf out of the resulting yarn.

anytime :-)

I think that would make a lovely yet funky scarf! Go for it and make sure to post some pics, I want to see how it turns out!!

I think the most expensive yarns are the lumpy and uneven yarns - so you're headed in the right direction. I tried my first attempt at hand spinning this year and someone told me that, as a seasons spinner, she wishes she could still spin the lumpy and uneven stuff, but couldn't.

I like it :)

The picture is beautiful...I think it would make a wonderful hat, too! I'm just starting out with fiber I bought but I haven't tried anything yet :)

What marvelous fun to learn to spin! Oh yes, some of the most expensive yarns I've bought have been lumpy and very cool! Can't wait to see what you make from it!
